Make sure you get a quality inspection before buying a new build Don't buy a new Trinity Home assuming that it's been built up to code. I'm currently getting ready to sell mine, and I'm finding all of the problems that never should have existed in the first place. The chimney was never sealed where it joins the roof, the basement wasn't waterproof properly, the oven cabinetry is a mess, and there are no locks on the garage doors, for starters. The insulation seems suspect in certain areas too, although without opening up the walls I can't tell for sure.

Trinity has much of the same quality workmanship in there 400K+ homes as they do in their 150k homes. Very poor respective for Trinity based on all the quality that was sold to me by the sales people. We have a brand new home that we can't show off because of these issues & the issues are covered under warranty. But Homewood's warranty appears worthless because you always just get voice mail when you call the warranty dept. phone #. We have never received an email or call back from them.

Within my one year warranty they band-aided them by caulking and I have had two professionals caulk since and still leaking so I am having them replaced. I recently also had all the trim repainted as they didn't use any primer and one very cheap coat of paint. Was evident within about 1.5 years as paint started to peal. The list goes on and on of things I have found over time. They are very good about covering up where they cut corners.
Before hiring a contractor in Ohio, be sure to get at least 3 detailed bids. Quality contractors will take the time to explain their budget proposal, and help guide you through the estimate process. Be wary of an abnormally low bid, they are not worth the risk. These underpriced projects often do not end well for the homeowner, choose a contractor you trust and can clearly communicate with. The screen door on the slider will hardly move so we have to usually just keep it open for fear of breaking it. The weather stripping above the garage door pulls off and comes down almost every time we open our garage door. We have a terribly squeaky floor outside the main bathroom.

There are numerous nail pops on in the on suite bathroom that's so far out it's already rusted. Keep in mind we've only been in this house about 2 months. Our building permit records indicate that Trinity Home Builders has worked on at least 290 projects over the past 3 years.
They did not place drains on either side of the driveway as required by zoning ,and a section of my front yard was under water for a long time as a result. When they retroactively added the drains they wrecked part of my yard in the process and attempted to leave without a word about it. I've heard from my new neighbor that contacting the builder after the close has been difficult. Based on the other reviews here, now I'm not surprised.
